Arrival in Nairobi
International flights from Europe arrive either early morning or late evening. We can arrange accommodation for any nights in Nairobi before we leave on safari or after we get back.

Day 1 to Day 4
We will take a flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. The route will take you over the Rift Valley with good views of the escarpments. We will land at an airstrip close to our camp in the heart of Kenya’s best wildlife viewing area. On this first day you will have time to slow down, relax, rest and begin to absorb the African wilderness. In the late afternoon we will go on our first wildlife viewing drive. We will then have three days to explore the Masai Mara

Day 5
We will drive from the Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru. En route we will see the spectacular scenery of the Rift Valley and visit Kericho, the center of Kenya’s tea growing area.
Lake Nakuru is world famous for the flocks of flamingos which sometimes congregate there. In addition to flamingos and a huge range of other birds, Nakuru is also a rhino sanctuary with both white and black rhino and a great selection of other animals. We will stay at a beautiful private home, Deloraine, located just above the town at Nakuru. Built in 1920 by Lord Francis Scott, a prominent early settler, this has to be one of the grandest examples of colonial architecture in the country. It is set in the middle of the 5000 acre commercial farm at 6000 ft. on the lower slopes of Londiani mountain, a forest and bamboo shrouded volcano, on the western edge of the great Rift Valley. The house offers swimming, tennis, horse riding and a beautiful croquet lawn and you will be elegantly hosted as house guests of the Tristan and Cindy Voorspuy who make Deloraine their home.

Day 6
We will spend a whole day game viewing and bird watching in Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 7
We will drive from Nakuru out of the Rift Valley and up on to the Laikipia  plateau, which stretches to the north of Mount Kenya. Laikipia is famous for its scenery and
wildlife viewing. We will stay at the beautiful Loisaba ranch. Like many of the areas in Laikipia, Loisaba is a privately owned ranch and wildlife area. You have the option of experiencing wildlife viewing on foot safaris, from horseback or trekking with camels. These trips can be tailored to suit your stamina and riding skills, from a few hours to overnighters. You can also go white water rafting, mountain biking, or ride ATV’s. In addition, we can do night drives to see some of Africa’s lesser known animals. The accommodations, service and food are spectacular. Loisaba also features its famous sky beds, where you can choose to sleep out.

Day 8
A full day at Loisaba. Choose your activities to suit yourself!

Day 9
After breakfast we will set out to drive to Shaba National Reserve.  Shaba has a real feel of being off the beaten track and has spectacular scenery and excellent wildlife viewing. We will stay at Joy’s camp which was built in 2006 and is part-owned by Westminster Safaris. Joy’s camp combines elegantly designed and appointed tents which use the latest in solar powered lighting to provide a unique and romantic bush experience.

Day 10-11
We will have time to explore Shaba  and see some of the wildlife which is characteristic of the northern, drier areas  of Kenya

Day 12
We will drive from Shaba to Meru National Park, where we will stay in Elsa’s Kopje lodge.  Elsa’s Kopje is one of the most spectacular and beautiful lodges in Africa. It is the perfect place to end your African adventure. The lodge offers the ultimate in comfort and service. It is built on a kopje or small hill and is beautifully designed to meld into the scenery. The Kopje is named after Elsa the lioness, whose story is told in Joy Adamson’s book. The Kopje was a favourite place for the George and Joy Adamson. Each luxurious room is a separate cottage with its own stunning views across Meru National Park.

Day 13
We will spend a full day exploring Meru National Park

Day 14
There will be time for a morning game drive or you can relax by the pool. We will take a flight back to Nairobi. Time for a little last minute shopping if you want to!
