There is no-where quite like it on earth Greystokes Mahale is unique. Greystokes was built 20 years ago at the base of the Mahale Mountains where the forest meets the white sandy beaches and unsullied waters of Lake Tanganyika.
The Mahale Mountains rising some 8000ft behind camp are home to one of the largest Chimpanzee population on earth. Your days at Greystokes Mahale can be as active or as relaxed as you choose, from trekking in the mountains in search of the Chimp families, kayaking and fishing on the lake, to sundowners and cruises on the camp dhow.
The camp is built purely from wood that has been reclaimed from old Dhows and fishing boats, palm leaves make up the thatched roofs of the main mess and the 6 bandas. All the rooms have hot and cold running water with showers and flush toilets.
